About the author
Paul Widdershoven
A writer on Pender Island, British Columbia, listening for the union of God and humanity revealed in Jesus Christ.
Paul Widdershoven is a writer who lives aboard a boat on Pender Island, British Columbia.
He sometimes describes himself simply as:
A guy who lives on a boat and listens for the wind.
His writing arises from listening, from living with Scripture until its words open into something larger than the questions brought to them.
At the heart of his work is the union of God and humanity revealed in Jesus Christ.
From that ground, Scripture becomes the witness of a creation being gathered into the life from which it came. Familiar words begin to reveal what has always been true in the Father: humanity is known, held, and made one in Christ.
Under the Sun, Beyond the Sun
Paul's first book, Under the Sun, Beyond the Sun: The Evening and the Morning of Wisdom, follows the journey of Ecclesiastes through the limits of human wisdom and into the wisdom revealed beyond the sun.
From the Beginning
From the Beginning: What Jesus Revealed About Marriage, Divorce, and Remarriage brings this same way of seeing to the words of Jesus concerning marriage and divorce.
When questioned about what was lawful, Jesus returned to the beginning:
The two shall become one flesh.
Paul's writing dwells within that return. It looks again at marriage as a visible witness to the mystery of Christ and His body, the union of God and humanity taking form in the earth.
His work is offered as witness: an invitation to look again, to listen, and to recognize what the Spirit may already be making visible.
The wisdom you seek already knows you.
